Eyes Wide Open

"Somewhere over the rainbow...and the dreams that you dreamed of"
-Israel Kamakowiwo Ole'
I have many life goals. Some I know will never happen, just because of the life style I choose to live and the direction I have in mind for myself. Others, however, will happen if I choose to make them happen. I will now share my top 10 (as of right now) places I want to visit in the world. This does not include places I have already been, as I have already been to those places. I may include a repeat list at the end. :]
10. New York City
9. Bora Bora
8. The Great Barrier Reef in Australia
7. The Great Wall of China
6. Egypt
5. Jerusalem
4. Prague
3. Scotland
2. Greece
1. Machu Picchu
I realized half-way down that they arent in any really specific order, except that this is the order I thought of them in... For the most part its pretty close, though. Of course this is not the entire list of places I'd like to see, but its a good start. :]
Let the adventures begin!

A Pictures Worth

They say a picture is worth a thousand words. While that may be true, I believe a picture may also be worth a thousand representations.
This is my self-portrait. We all know I failed at 'photo of the week'... But maybe this will re-boot the inspirations behind 'photo of the week'.
This photo portrays Me in my simplest form- silly, witty, full of wonder, and self-entertaining. I dont do anything for anyone but me; if someone else is benefited by the way I view the world, all the better.
Self reflections are my way of knowing if I'm doing right.
So far so good.

"And the worst part is there's no one else to blame..."
-Sia
On Sunday, I was invited to go skydiving with a group of friends from church. After thinking about it for a minute or two, I determined that I would really actually like to go! That is where the inspiration for this post came from.
I have decided to conquer my fears, one fear at a time. Fears are only setbacks on our journey through life. Fears may become weakness that begins to define us.
So, to start out this journey of fear-conquering, I need to determine what my fears are. Although it would be standard for my to list out all my fears in this post, I dont think that would be a healthy way of overcoming them, by sharing them with the world. My biggest fears are the ones that will take the longest to crack, but those are the ones I need to become aware of on my own and face silently until they are no longer a problem.
However, fears like my fear of heights, fish, spiders, cows, and birds are fears I have no problem rattling off for the world to see, because to many others, these are silly fears; fears I should not have and weaknesses that need to be overcome.
Step 1: List fears. (check)
Step 2: List plan to face each fear separately. (may be simple, may be skydiving.)
Step 3: Action!
Step 4: Recap..
Step 5: Repeat.
Yes, I just made those steps up on the spot. But! A plan is a plan! Since I have a plan, I am one step closer to overcoming these weaknesses that potentially set me back in life! :)
My other, deeper fears may not be as easily cracked as going skydiving or holding a bird. That doesnt mean my steps cant work, though. Recognition may be the biggest step because after the fear is brought to light, there is much more of a chance for change.
Here's to making a change!
